Anne was elected president of Lupus Ontario for a two-year term at the Lupus Ontario 2012 AGM. A founding member of the Lupus Society of Hamilton in 1978. Anne has been an active volunteer since then in several areas of the lupus movement, locally, provincially and nationally. She has a keen interest in advancing efforts around research in lupus and promoting awareness through the media. Anne gained experience on the Lupus Canada Board in the role of 2nd Vice President, and Chairs of Fundraising and Research. She organized the first Lupus Canada Medical Symposium held in Niagara Falls in April 2002 and has served on the Lupus Ontario Board of Directors since 2003. Anne continues to run a lupus support group in Hamilton.
Julia Kane, President for 8 of the past 12 years and has assumed the role of Director at Large on the Lupus Ontario Board. We are proud of the strides Lupus Ontario has made under Julia's leadership and extend sincere appreciation and best wishes to her for a job well done.
