High Tea for Lupus - The Barkley Square in Innisfil, Ontario hosted a spectacular event. The restaurant had luxurious design; each table setting with Teacup China, beautiful flowers and Christmas cheer. The food was spectacular; a three tier tray of scrumptous assortments of different sandwiches, cookies, cakes, tea biscuits, buttery crescents; accompanied with homemade jams and decadent devonshire cream. And the added bonus - three different teas to choose from. It was indeed a Royal High Tea for Lupus. High Tea for Lupus will once again take place next year on November 4, 2012. LCBO Tag Days - November 12 and 26, 2011
LCBO generously allowed Lupus Ontario to funraise outside of 5 LCBO stores - 3 in Richmond Hill and 2 in Markham. It was a grand success - we made just over $1500.00 - Thank you to all the wonderful people who volunteered their time to help raise funds for Lupus. Italian Dinner Dance and Silent Auction November 12, 2011
Every year we have a wonderful event to help raise funds for Lupus Research; Italian Dinner Dance and Silent Auction was once again a hit. A friendly gathering; enjoying food, drinks and dancing. Thank you to everyone who attended; it was great to see all of you again this year. Lupus Ontario hopes to see all of you again next year.
Thank you to all who Made your Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon or 5k more meaningful by going the distance for Lupus Ontario. The event was a great success.
Butterfly Masquerade Ball - October 8, 2011
The Butterfly Masquerade Ball had a fun day at the Thornhill Community Centre, 7755 Bayview Avenue, Thornhill, ON
The children enjoyed each and every minute of the event. We had Games, Prizes, Entertainment, Face Painting, Great food and treats as well as a clown. The Silent Auction and Raffles was a great added touch to an already successful day.

Lupus Information Day - October 1, 2011
Barrie and Area Support Group hosted a Lupus Information Day on October 1st. Honouring Octobers Lupus Awareness Month. Thank you Gayle for speaking about Chronic Disease Self Management. Everyone certainly captured new techniques and a better understanding for Self Management. Thank you Linda for the wonderful presentation about the Barrie Pool Program and Arthritis. I am sure everyone who attended are excited to join a Therapeutic Pool Program. Thank you to Anne Matheson who spoke about her journey with Lupus. We always learn so much from you Anne. A BIG Thank you goes to Dr. Haaland who did an amazing presentation on Immunology, Allergies and Lupus. He took the time to answer everyone's questions and stayed after his time to make sure everyone had a chance to have all of their questions answered. The Lupus Information Day was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who attended. We all look forward to next year's Lupus Information Day. I am sure it will be as successful as this years was.
Canadian Tire Tag Days-September 22, 23 and 24, 2011
Canadian Tire graciously allowed Lupus Ontario to collect donations outside of their store in Barrie, located at 75 Mapleview Dr, Barrie, ON on September 22, 23 and 24 from opening at 8:00 am to closing time at 9:00 pm. It was a grand success. We had amazing volunteers who were very devoted and worked diligently, smiling at everyone who passed their post. The Canadian Tire – South Tag Days raised a whopping $935.66 – How wonderful. Thank you to the Volunteers; A special Thank You goes to Lynda Wewiora who worked very hard at recruiting the volunteers and scheduling the times.
Lupus Awareness Day - Rexall Pharmacy Bradford September 26, 2011
Rexall Pharmacy in Bradford, Ontario hosted a Lupus Awareness Day accommpanied by Hemacode Day - Hemacode is a food tolerance test. It was a wonderful day. We spread the awareness about Lupus throughout Bradford, ON. Rexall Pharmacy did an amazing job setting up the information table. Walk for Lupus Fun Fair & Silent Auction - September 10, 2011
Durham's Walk for Lupus, Fun Fair & Silent Auction on September 10 was it's 5th Anniversary. Shannon Crawford the chairperson for Walk for Lupus, Durham Region has once again accomplished what she set out to do. 5 years ago her walk took place in a mall with a group of Lupus Supporters walking through the mall, now it has grown to over 700 attendees all having fun with games and a silent auction as well as many event sponsors. Her passion for one day finding a cure for lupus has grown just as much as her Walk. Thank you Shannon for all the hard work you do for the many who suffer from this debilitating and life altering disease; you and your volunteers did an outstanding job.

One Crazy Stamper had their Grand Opeing on September 10th. Karen Dedman had a Charity BBQ and Fundraiser for Lupus Ontario during her store opening. Thank you so much Karen, for thinking of Lupus Ontario. Because of people like you, we are certainly closer to a cure.
Strawberry Social - July 9, 2011
The Strawberry Social on July 9 was a grand success. The band "The Hus-Bands" had the place roaring with toe tapping sing alongs. The strawberry deserts were very tasty.
The Erin Mills Lodge Retirement Home did a phenomenal job. Thank you Erin Mills Lodge Retirement Home. The afternoon was very enjoyable.

Lupus Ontario's Charity Yard Sale on June 18 in the Office Parking Lot located at 2900 John Street, Markham, Ontario. was a smash hit. Lupus Ontario raised over $1,000.00! YAY! It was a GREAT day. Next year we plan on raising over $2,000.00

This year's Fashion Show's Theme was based on St. Matthew's multicultural week and was presented as a trip around the world. The Voyage Fashion show raised $11,000 - Way To Go!

24th Annual Italian Dinner Dance and Silent Auction
was held Saturday November 7, 2009 at the Riviera Parque Banquet Hall in Concord. The evening raised over $13,000 for Research and to support the Geoff Carr Fellowship through Lupus Ontario. Dr. Derek Haaland, from McMaster Hospital in Hamilton, this years’ Fellow was honoured by Cameron Carr on behalf of his family and Lupus Ontario.
Board Director, Anne Matheson, was presented with the Donna Chu Memorial President’s Award recognizing her thirty plus years as a volunteer working to help people with lupus live longer and better lives.
The wonderful evening was highlighted by the ballroom dance performance of Arturs Prikulis & Jessica Levitan from Viva Dance Studios. They performed three different competitive dances capped off by an outstanding Jive routine. We would like to thank them for their gifts of time, energy and talent. See what you missed.
